Avocado Dali was the catalyst for the Slime Series and Gabriella’s development of her hyperrealist method with an absurdist twist. The rich fuchsia-coloured slime contrasts beautifully with the green of the avocado and the brown of the stone. Gabriella’s fascination with Dali’s theory of softness and hardness, which was the central theme of his work in 1931, and arguably his most famous work of this period Persistence of Memory with the melting timepieces, all played a part in the inspiration for Avocado Dali. 

Avocado Dali has become synonymous with Gabriella’s Practice as she shared the development of this work with her engaged fanbase on social media. Her followers love the emoji connection and the surreal and impactful slime.

Gabriella is a contemporary artist creating hyperrealism artwork with a twist using only colouring pencils. After many years of drawing commissions, she developed her new expressive Slime Series during the Covid-19 pandemic and shared her artistic journey on TikTok and Instagram. Gabriella developed an engaged fanbase of 300k+ who helped inspire her unique approach and style and she continues to engage with them as she develops the next Series in her practice.
